Speaker Mark Bogard, CIH – Assistant Director for the Office of Research and Clinical Safety at Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Mark Bogard, MSPH, CIH, is an Assistant Director for the Office of Research and Clinical Safety at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.  He manages a professional staff that provides technical oversight for safety, health, and industrial hygiene management programs for the Vanderbilt research and laboratory community.  Prior to his appointment to Vanderbilt, he held positions with EH&S management responsibility at Akzo Nobel and Chevron/Texaco.

Mark is a board-Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) with more than 25 years of experience in developing and managing safety, health and environmental programs for both corporate and academic research institutions. He holds a Master of Public Health (MSPH) degree in Environmental Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

Mark is an active member of American Industrial Hygiene Association and past president of both the Kentuckiana and Middle Tennessee local sections of AIHA.

In lieu of bringing Christmas of toy donations for Toys For Tots at our December meeting, the Middle Tennessee Chapter will be making a donation to our local campaign. More information will follow.
